About Me

Joan - Blogger and Woo-Woo lover

Welcome!

My name is Joan. I am not a nutritionist, holistic practitioner, or chef—nothing officially health-related.

I just love to cook and bake, explore alternative remedies, garden, research healthy ways of living, and experiment with all things woo-woo. And let me tell you, the woo-woo part? Amazing.

I see things others don’t. I hear the whispers of my ancestors urging me to keep traditions alive. To get back to feeling the earth beneath my feet and in my hands. To plant, nurture, harvest, and preserve. I also listen to my body—she tells me what she needs. If you’re still long enough, you can hear it too.

A few years ago, I stopped listening. I knew something wasn’t right, but I was busy—running my pet-sitting business, checking things off my to-do list. “It’s just a little indigestion,” I told myself. But no, my child, it was a stressed-out gallbladder. Loud and clear.

I was late to the party, but I caught it. With the help of my naturopath and some dietary changes, I got back on track. My body wasn’t digesting fats properly, so I started taking Milk Thistle, added bitter greens, cut back on fat and alcohol, and within six weeks, I had lost 26 pounds—not from starving, but from healing. My body was finally processing food the way it was meant to.

Spoiler alert—I still have my gallbladder, and I give that little organ all the love it deserves.
